After Auburn beat Washington in the only top-10 matchup of the week, head coach Gus Malzahn was named Dodd Trophy Coach of the Week.
Malzahn's Tigers knocked off the then-sixth-ranked Huskies in the inaugural game of the season with plenty of playoff implications on the line.
Auburn was able to total over 400 yards of offense along with not committing a single turnover. On the defensive side of the ball, it managed to sack Jake Browning five times and hold the explosive Washington offense to only 16 points.
This improves Malzahn’s record to 7-9 against top-10 opponents.
Auburn plays Alabama State at home this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CST.
