Auburn man arrested on charges of breaking and entering a vehicle and theft

An Auburn man was charged with multiple felonies after he was found breaking and entering a vehicle and stealing from it. 

Jacob D. Allen, 21, was originally arrested on a charge of public intoxication after reports of a suspicious person at a business in the 1900 block of S. College St. on Nov. 9.

Auburn police searched Allen and found property that had been stolen from a 2018 Ford F-150, including a credit card.

Further investigation concluded that Allen was responsible for entering the vehicle and stealing property, according to the Auburn Police Division.

On Nov. 18, Allen was taken into custody at a business in Opelika with the assistance of the Opelika Police Department.

Allen is being held at the Lee County Jail on a $4,500 bond.
