An attempted robbery occurred near campus Thursday morning, according to police.
The incident occurred near the 600 block of West Magnolia Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The victim said a man poked him in the back with an unknown object and demanded his belongings, according to police.
There was a brief physical altercation before the suspect fled on foot, according to police.
No weapon was seen, police said.
The Auburn Police Division encourages anyone with information about the incident to call 911 or 334-501-3100 to report it immediately.
