The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the Auburn area until 4 a.m.
Greene Hall and RBD Library will be open to those seeking a safe shelter, according to the University.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado to develop, according to the NWS. These watches can last from 4 to 6 hours, but may be canceled, replaced or re-issued.
The NWS advises people to monitor weather conditions and be prepared to take shelter in the safest available location if a warning is issued.
