On Thursday, 40-year-old Shawvokie Zacchaeus Williams was arrested on a felony warrant for sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, according to the Auburn Police Division.
APD began an investigation on June 3 after officers were informed of a crime involving an adult offender and a juvenile victim. The investigation determined that the victim was younger than 12 years old and that the adult suspect subjected them to sexual contact.
Williams was identified as the suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. Lafayette Police Department arrested him on June 17. He was transported to the Lee County Jail and was held on a $50,000 bond. APD continues to investigate the case.
