At a Mexican restaurant, there’s something for everyone, and Auburn students are certainly big fans. Out of all the Mexican restaurants in Auburn, El Dorado has been chosen for the fourth year in a row as Plainsman’s Choice for best Mexican food.
Located just off of College Street, El Dorado opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. every day of the week.
They have a plethora of menu items to choose from.
Brennan McNeely, sophomore in biomedical sciences, said his favorite meal is torta de carne asada with horchata or a jarrito to drink. The most common meal college students order, according to staff, is the El Dorado favorite, which is chicken or steak and queso over rice.
They also have specials for a college student’s budget. On Tuesdays, they have $1 tacos, and on Thursdays, customers can enjoy $2 beers. They also have margarita nights on Wednesday.
"I always love the environment when I enter the restaurant and the employees are always ready to help at any given moment," McNeely said.
This local spot offers everything from salads and nacho plates to enchiladas and tacos, making it popular among students and locals alike.
It is the perfect location to go hang out with friends, eat some chips and queso and enjoy the best Mexican food in Auburn.
