Anna Davis earned her first SEC Player of the Week honors of the early 2024-25 season, the league office announced on Wednesday. This marks the second career SEC weekly honor for Davis, who was named SEC Freshman of the Week in April – after joining the team midway through the season in January.
The sophomore was tabbed SEC Co-Player of the Week after recording an individual runner-up finish in the Tigers’ season opener at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, South Carolina – marking her fourth finish within the top-5 since joining the team in January. Davis did not record a round over par on her way to a 6-under 207 for the event.
The Spring Valley, California native’s tournament was highlighted by an opening round 67 (-4) that included five birdies. She followed up her opening round with a second round of 69 (-2) and a final round of even par (71).
Auburn took home the team title behind Davis’ stellar performance, as the team carded a 54-hole score of 847 (-5) and won the event by a shot over second place LSU.
Davis and the Tigers will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 21 through Monday, Sept. 23 at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma.
