Auburn baseball kicked off the 2025 season in historic fashion, welcoming a record-breaking 5,718 fans to the newly renovated Plainsman Park for Opening Day against Holy Cross. The upgrades mark the most significant enhancements to the ballpark since its construction in 1996, introducing new premium club spaces, expanded general admission areas and improved concessions.

“Just absolutely incredible,” said head coach Butch Thompson of the atmosphere on opening day. “If you build it, they’ll come with a type concept, and that looked amazing over the wall. I think that’s an environment that has taken almost a decade to try to get in motion, and you’ve done all these little pieces along the way, but something came full circle tonight that was pretty special.”

Enhancements and New Fan Experiences

The renovations at Plainsman Park provide fans with a variety of new ways to experience Auburn baseball. Three ticket options are now available: general admission, reserved seating and access passes for exclusive club areas.

General admission upgrades

Fans with general admission tickets now have access to several new viewing areas. The Plainsman Patio, expanded along the first base line, features high-top tables, seating and a Fast Flight Grab-N-Go concessions market. The War Eagle Wall is a two-tiered, standing-room-only area atop the left field wall, providing a unique viewing experience. The revamped Tiger Terrace offers three general admission tiers, allowing fans to bring their own tailgate chairs. The lower tier of Tiger Terrace now features nine Terrace Boxes, which include soft seating, drink rails, Traeger pellet grills and refrigerators.

Premium club spaces

Two new clubs join the Hall of Fame Club in offering elevated fan experiences. The Broadway Club at Plainsman Park is a private club above home plate for 40 fans, named in honor of Auburn alumnus Bob Broadway. The 984 Club, located above the Plainsman Patio, pays tribute to Auburn Baseball’s six College World Series appearances and offers indoor seating, drink rails and premium concessions.

Expanded student access

Auburn students now have more options to experience a game at Plainsman Park. The additions of the War Eagle Wall, Plainsman Patio and expanded Tiger Terrace provide new student viewing areas. The first five rows of section 111 are also reserved exclusively for students.

Improved concessions and amenities

Soda refill stations now offer unlimited same-game refills at three locations. Fast Flight Grab-N-Go concession stand, located on Plainsman Patio and Home Plate Concourse, features an expanded menu that includes wraps and healthy options. Ben’s Pretzels and Chick-fil-A have increased their presence, with additional concessions atop War Eagle Wall and Tiger Terrace. Two new entrances along Donahue Drive have been added to expedite fan entry. A state-of-the-art sound system has been installed to enhance the ballpark’s atmosphere.

A historic opening night

The energy of Auburn’s record-breaking Opening Night crowd was evident, with over 1,200 students contributing to the atmosphere.

“We had over 5,700 people here tonight — our largest crowd ever,” Thompson said. “Our students have made such a difference in all our sports, and I think that’s the most students we’ve ever had come into Plainsman Park.”

With these renovations, Plainsman Park has been positioned as one of the top venues in the SEC. The updates not only enhance the gameday experience for fans, but also provide the Tigers with a substantive home-field advantage.
