The Auburn Tigers are set to face off against North Carolina State in an exciting softball series this weekend at Jane B. Moore Field. Auburn looks to maintain its momentum after a 2-1 weekend against the Tennessee Lady Vols.

Friday marks the first series between the two teams, with Auburn holding a 2-0 advantage over the Wolfpack. This is the first meeting between the teams since 2010.

The Tigers enter the series with a 30-21 overall record and a 6-18 record in SEC play. Despite their struggles in the conference, Auburn is coming off a successful weekend, having won two out of three games against Tennessee. Their home record stands at an impressive 17-9.

Leading Auburn's offense is AnnaLea Adams, who holds a .415 batting average with 35 RBIs. She is followed by Abbey Smith with a .331 batting average and Nelia Peralta, another key contributor, hitting .329 with 26 RBIs. Icess Tresvick, a powerhouse, has a .272 batting average, 31 RBIs, and 10 home runs, leading the team in home runs.

On the mound for Auburn, SJ Guerin has been a reliable presence with a 2.87 ERA and a 19-9 record. Guerin has been named SEC Pitcher of the Week and looks to maintain her strong performance to close out the regular season this weekend. Haley Rainey, with a 4.44 ERA and a 6-4 record, and Chalea Clemmons, with a 6.54 ERA and a 4-5 record, provide depth to the pitching rotation.

The Wolfpack heads into the weekend with an overall record of 25-27 and a 6-18 record in conference play. They stand at 6-12 on the road, which they look to overcome this weekend. NC State is coming off a weekend series against Duke, where they went 1-2.

Leading the Wolfpack's offense is Taylor Ensley, batting .345, followed by Hannah Church, batting .331 with 19 home runs and 53 RBIs, leading the team in both statistics. Church is two hits away from her 100-career milestone. Another key contributor to watch is freshman shortstop Kendall Simmers, who holds the most home runs by a freshman in program history with 13 and counting. Simmers also ranks in the top five for freshman program records for batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, RBIs, and more.

On the mound for NC State, Madison Inscoe has a 2.60 ERA and a 2-4 record. Carly Maxton has a 3.65 ERA and an 11-10 record, while Wynna Gore has a 7-5 record, providing a competitive staff.

With both teams eager to improve their standings, this series promises to be a competitive matchup. Auburn will look to leverage its home-field advantage, while North Carolina State aims to overcome its road challenges.

The War Eagle Classic at Jane B. Moore Field starts Friday, May 2, at 6 p.m. CST, continues Saturday at 2 p.m. CST, and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m. CST. All games can be watched on SEC Network+.
