Carson Meyers, Chase Fralick, and the rest of the Auburn baseball team celebrate a series win over Mississippi State on April 27, 2025.

Coming off a successful series sweep at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks this past weekend, Auburn baseball looks to continue their success in their last home game of the season against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks on Tuesday at Plainsman Park. The Tigers hope to carry over their momentum from the weekend after scoring a historic 46 total runs against South Carolina, the most runs scored in an SEC series in program history.

Auburn has seen improvement from the 2024 season, where they only tallied 5 SEC wins at home, and is going into their last game in Plainsman with a record-tying 12 SEC wins at home, the most since the 1999 season. The team currently sits at an overall record of 36-15, a conference record of 16-11, and is ranked No. 5 in the country.

Overall, the Tigers have a team batting average of .301 and a .899 on-base percentage. The team has hit a combined 73 home runs, 344 runs batted in, and has scored a total of 373 runs. Auburn has a total of 512 hits, with roughly one-eighth of those coming from the South Carolina series this past weekend.

As far as pitching goes, Auburn is led by right-handers Samuel Dutton and Cam Tilly, the two pitchers having a combined 3.62 earned run average in a combined 28 games on the season. Both righties pitched this past weekend, Tilly getting the start on Friday and Dutton getting the start for the first game on Saturday. Tilly led the Tigers to a successful weekend start, only allowing South Carolina to score one run through five innings compared to Auburn’s 24 runs.

Players to watch

Eric Guevara:

It’s no surprise that Guevara should be on the audience’s radar after his stellar weekend against South Carolina, earning season highs in hits, runs scored, stolen bases, and five other stat categories. In just three games, the third baseman had a batting average of .800 in 15 plate appearances with 12 hits overall. Of those hits, two were doubles, one was a triple, and two were home runs. Guevara also had nine RBIs, scored seven runs, and stole two bases. These stats complement the rest of Guevara's season, as he has a .340 average in 28 games played, as well as 33 hits, 24 RBIs, and five home runs. He has also been a fielding powerhouse with 39 assists and an overall fielding percentage of .959.

Ike Irish:

Irish is also coming off a hot weekend against the Gamecocks, earning a .467 average with one home run, six runs batted in, and six hits in 13 at-bats. Irish has been a hot bat for the Tigers all season with a .345 batting average, 13 home runs, and 48 RBIs.

The first pitch of the at-home season finale for the Tigers is scheduled for 6 p.m. CST on Tuesday, May 13 at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Alabama. Live coverage will be available on SEC Network+ with radio coverage on Auburn Sports Network.
