Class of 2014 Bringing Back Welcoming Tradition

Freshmen convocation is an event that Auburn hopes will become a new tradition starting with the class of 2014. As the first event in the new coliseum, new students, both freshmen and transfer students, will enjoy a presentation with key Auburn speakers and a spirit rally followed by a free barbecue on the lawn next to the student center.

River cane plants in Alabama are becoming extinct, but a professor at Auburn University is not letting them go down without a fight.Wildlife scientist Mark Smith said his decision to start a research project on restoring the river cane in Alabama was based on the conservation need for the plant.

Auburn Bookstore Offers Free Book Stimulus Program

Buy a book, get a book free. The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance is offering just that."If students buy a book between now and the end of July, they can mail in a form and get a free book mailed back to them," said Margaret Hendricks, general book manager at the Auburn University Bookstore.
