College of Engineering senators
Abhi Gulati — Senator
The Three Aumigos Ticket — Sophomore software engineering
"Being a first-generation Indian American raised in the Deep South, I have had the unique opportunity to experience firsthand the benefits of embracing diverse opinions and backgrounds. Because of these experiences, I have strived to exit my comfort zones at every opportunity and surround myself with differing viewpoints. This philosophy has driven me to become a member of the Financial Management Association, SGA’s Lobby Board, SGA’s Balfour Ring Ambassador program, and the Be Well Hut, as well as participate in the Procter & Gamble Freshman Leadership Forum and the LeaderShape Institute. As a senator with my running mates, Jordan Bailey and Tina Huang, I will use my unique ability to empathize with and learn from opposing sides to promote unity through diversity."
Avi Vaidya — Senator
EnGinneering Ticket – Sophomore in chemical engineering
"I am running for Senator in the College of Engineering as a member of the EnGINNeering ticket. I have been lucky enough to serve students through SGA as a Freshman Senator last year, and as a Cabinet member this year. The best part of my involvement has been getting to hear feedback from a diverse group of students and work towards making tangible changes that address any concerns they might have. As a Senator, I plan to lobby for dead days before finals weeks and will attempt to make engineering administrators more accessible for students to use as resources while they work through their major. Thank you for your consideration, and War Eagle!"
Connor Jones — Senator
EnGinneering Ticket — Sophomore in chemical engineering
"The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is an incredible institution of higher education, and I am very excited for the chance to represent the interests of its students. Through Senate, I will promote more effective ways for engineering students to get their opinions heard by SGA and Auburn University. Additionally, I will help engineering students become more aware of opportunities that Auburn provides. I will also work on fostering relationships between engineering students and faculty to benefit the College of Engineering. I am a member of SGA Cabinet currently, so I understand how SGA works and how to most efficiently institute policies that will benefit the College of Engineering as a whole; I am a member of the EnGinneering ticket as well, and I know my fellow ticket members and I will be able to work well together if elected. As a Senator, I believe I can improve the overall experience for engineering students at Auburn University for years to come."
David Martorana — Senator
EnGinneering Ticket — Freshman in industrial and systems engineering
"As a senator for the College of Engineering, I will make it my top priority to listen to questions, suggestions, and complaints you have regarding your experience at Auburn. I will also continue to work as a team with my “EnGinneering” colleagues, the College of Engineering staff, and other SGA senators on projects such as peer mentoring and graduate-student mentoring programs. By voting for the EnGineering ticket, you are voting for a group of qualified and dedicated individuals who are willing to put in the work necessary to better both the college and the university as a whole."
Hayes Lee — Senator
EnGinneering Ticket — Sophomore in chemical engineering
"I cannot wait to get this year of campaigns kicked off! The EnGINNeering ticket is super excited to share what we have in store for the upcoming year! This year, we will be focusing on LISTENING to our students by conducting surveys and trying to form a bridge between the faculty and the engineering student body. We will do this by conducting town hall meetings and providing surveys for the students to use to voice their opinions. Also, we are excited to push for dead days within the College of Engineering before finals and to conduct a poll to see what kind of restaurants the students would like in the new Brown-Kopel Engineering Student Achievement Center. Overall, we are super excited to begin this next year serving the student body in every way that we can, and we would sincerely appreciate your vote!"
Jordan Bailey — Senator
The Three Aumigos Ticket — Freshman in mechanical engineering
"Growing up around a family that emphasizes service and loyalty over popularity, I don’t see Senate as a title to plaster on a resume, but rather as an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my Auburn Family. One of my biggest fears is to leave this college in 4 (or 5) years and have done nothing to bring it to the next level in its development. I currently have 3 siblings at Auburn and seeing how they strive to change the lives of their peers gives me the courage to be more that just an average student. I can see the passion of my running mates, Tina Huang and Abhi Gulati, and I am willing to work with them, as the 3 AUMIGOS using their ideas and determination to pave the way for Unity, Diversity, and Accessibility."
Sara Haynes — Senator
EnGinneering Ticket — Freshman in industrial and systems engineering
"The EnGINNeering ticket has worked very hard in preparation for the upcoming year. Our main goal is to bridge the gap between teachers and students in the college of engineering. Through surveys and town hall meetings we will allow the students to voice their opinions and ensure everyone is equally represented in the senate. We are super excited for the chance to serve you and would greatly appreciate your vote."
Tina Huang — Senator
The Three Aumigos Ticket — Freshman in chemical engineering
Accessibility and accountability is why I would like to be your next Engineering Senate. Being a minority and a woman in engineering, I understand the importance of having your voice heard. I hope to be the facilitator of your ideas and concerns to create a positive change. I am a self-starter that is ready to listen, take action, and together, make a difference at the School of Engineering. With my running mates, Jordan Bailey and Ahbi Gulati, we plan to be of service to engineering students by being readily available to address your concerns and amplify your ideas.
