Auburn took its first lead since early in the game when Asauhn Dixon-Tatum scored on a putback with four seconds left.
Earlier in the week, head coach Tony Barbee said he might cut back on senior guard Frankie Sullivan's minutes.
Barbee went a step further and kept Sullivan out of the starting lineup. It was the first time Sullivan didn't start since Jan. 17, 2012.
Sullivan was the first Tiger off the bench, though, entering the game at 16:49.
Arkansas jumped out to an early 14-6 lead, but the Razorbacks' Marshawn Powell got into foul trouble early. He left the game with two fouls and only played five minutes.
Auburn shot 11-26 (42.3 percent) from the field, while Arkansas shot 11-29 (37.9 percent).
Auburn outrebounded Arkansas 20-15. The Tigers had seven turnovers compared to the Razorbacks' four.
