Baseball conquers Brown

The baseball team completed its sweep of Brown with a 6-3 win Sunday, March 10 after eight strikeouts from pitcher Rocky McCord.

"I thought today was very important for Rocky," said Head Coach John Pawlowski. "He was throwing three pitches for strikes and really dominating the zone. He had a presence about himself. He made some big pitches when he needed to. It was certainly a big performance for him and one that we needed."

A two-RBI double from Patrick Savage put the Tigers up 2-0 in the second inning after a deep left center field hit that brought home Garrett Cooper and Cullen Wacker.

Jackson Burgreen singled to right field in the fifth inning and Blake Austin scored from third. Then, Jordan Ebert scored off of a ground out by Ryan Tella, giving Tella his 18th RBI of the season.

Later in the seventh inning, Auburn put the game out of reach after scoring two and leading Brown 6-1. Brown then scored two in the ninth inning, but was unable to gain the lead and lost 6-3.

Auburn looks to improve its record against Kennesaw State on Tuesday, March 12 at 5 p.m.
