Frankie Sullivan ended his season as the eighth all-time Auburn scorer with 1,556 career points, but the Tigers were downed by Texas A&M in the first round of the SEC Tournament Wednesday, March 13 by a score of 71-62.
The Aggies were too much for Auburn to handle, but the Tigers were within three points with only seven minutes to play.
This final loss was the 23rd of a campaign that only saw nine victories.
"It's disappointing that we had opportunities to win our fair share of games this year, but could get over the hump," said Head Coach Tony Barbee.
Frankie Sullivan finished his career with a team-high 29 points.
"It really hit me in the locker room especially after fighting so hard, knowing we could have won the game," Sullivan said. "Everything has come to an end. I just hate I have to leave Auburn. I love it here."
Sullivan was undoubtedly the Tigers' most valuable player this season, and his departure as a leader and a scorer will surely be difficult to overcome.
