The softball team lost the opening conference series of the year against No. 4 Florida after a 2-0 loss Sunday, March 10 at Jane B. Moore Field.
The Gators took the 1-0 lead in the third inning after Taylore Fuller hit a leadoff home run on the first pitch of the inning, and they would extend their lead in the fourth when Jessica Damico hit a sac fly to send in the second and last score of the day.
Lexi Davis took the loss to fall to 5-3 in a complete game effort. Davis allowed two runs, both earned, on one hit with four walks, four strikeouts and two hit batters.
The loss drops Auburn to an 18-7 overall record and 1-2 in the SEC.
Auburn will return to action Tuesday, March 12 against Tennessee State in Nashville.
