The softball team upset No. 4 Florida 5-4 Saturday, March 9 after Mckenzie Kilpatrick hit a solo home run to give the Tigers the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.
It was Kilpatrick's second home run of the season and and third of her career.
Marcy Harper improved to 8-2 with a complete-game victory. Harper allowed four runs, all earned, on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Auburn improved to 18-6 overall and 1-1 in the SEC. The victory was the first victory over a ranked opponent since a 3-2 win over No. four Georgia in 2011.
The series with Florida will conclude Sunday, March 10 at 1 p.m.
