Strong pitching from Auburn's Michael O'Neal gave the Tigers a 3-1 win Friday, April 19 against No. 10 ranked Mississippi State.
O'Neal is now 8-2 on the season and pitched an impressive seven innings against the Bulldogs. Allowing five hits, four walks and no runs, O'Neal also recorded four strikeouts.
Auburn's three scores resulted from two RBI's by Patrick Savage and another by Cullen Wacker. Savage hit a single in the first inning to drive home Wacker and later in the third inning once again brought Wacker to home plate with a second single.
Mississippi State avoided the shutout by scoring a run in the ninth. The Tigers play against the Bulldogs again Saturday, April 20 at 4 p.m.
