Auburn float-in movies go out with a bite

Da na... da na.... da na...
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, "Jaws" is making an appearance at the Samford Pool August 23 at 8:30 p.m.
Steven Spielberg's classic shark movie will serve as the final film in the second Float-In Movie summer series.
"We are looking forward to it," said community programs director Alison Hall. "There has been a lot of interest in this one. The people want to see it, and some of them have never seen it before. It is kind of an old movie, but a classic."
"Jaws" tells the terrifying story of a nearly 25-feet-long villain who strikes the beach and the movie screen, and the three men who must team up to hunt the killer shark down.
"We were looking for water-themed movies that would be fun to see while swimming in the pool," Hall said. "'Jaws' was one that we had picked to offer last year, but unfortunately it was rained out."
After many phone calls and emails asking for Jaws to be offered again, Hall said they decided to show it to wrap up the summer event.
"We have had good attendance and good feedback," Hall said. "It's very much a family friendly event."
The movie will start 15 minutes after sunset or 8:30 p.m. The event is $2 per person or free with a Splash Pass.
