For the first time this season, Auburn softball left an SEC game without a victory.
In a game that stretched into eight innings, Auburn found itself on the wrong end of a walk-off homer that gave Missouri a 5-4 win.
Auburn took the 2-0 lead early, with Kasey Cooper's 12th homer of the year coming in the third inning.
Mizzou tied things up in the fifth,but Auburn regained the lead in the top of the seventh with a homer from Carlee Wallace to make it 3-2, but Missouri tied things up again in the bottom of the seventh to send it to extras at 3-3.
Haley Fagan gave Auburn the lead again in the eighth with a solo shot, but Missouri's Kelsea Roth belted a two-run blast over the wall to give Missouri the win.
Auburn drops to 34-4 overall, with a 7-1 record in SEC play.
The rubber match of the series will be Sunday, March 29, at noon.
