Auburn men get win at SEC tennis tournament

Auburn’s men’s tennis team hit the road Wednesday, April 15, as they played the Arkansas Razorbacks in College Station. The Tigers won 4-2 to the surprise of no one as they won the same score earlier in the season.

However, sophomores Dante Saleh and Petar Tomic lost on court three 6-3 squashing the Tiger’s hopes of getting off to a 1-0 start.

The Tigers were more successful in singles with four wins and only one loss. Ollert won 7-6, 6-3 and Krickovic won 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 against the Razorbacks’ Santiago Munoz.

On court three, Hinnisdaels won 6-1, 6-3 against Johan den Toom. Despite suffering a loss on court six by Tomic, the Tigers grinded out a win by Plaskett on court five by a score of 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Auburn’s next match is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m. against the fifth ranked Vanderbilt Commodores. The Tiger’s first meeting with Vandy saw the commodores winning 4-0 in Nashville, Tennessee.
