Baseball loses final game of LSU series

Auburn baseball (21-15, 5-10) dropped the final game of the LSU series in a 6-2 loss Sunday, April 12, at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Right-hander Justin Camp matched his longest outing since his start against Texas A&M on March 15. The redshirt junior allowed one hit, no walks and three strikeouts through 5.1 scoreless innings.

Sophomore catcher Ben Craft and redshirt sophomore third baseman Kyler Deese led the way for the Tigers. Craft recorded three hits with one RBI in his first career multi-hit game after knocking the Tigers second run across in the eighth inning. Deese went 3-for-4 with one RBI after he singled in Craft in the sixth.

LSU struck first after it scored two runs in the first inning, one in the second and three in the third off Auburn starter Rocky McCord before Camp relieved him in the third inning.

Auburn will host Alabama State on Tuesday, April 14, at 6 p.m. at Plainsman Park.
