Board of Trustees approves installation of the largest video board in college football

Malzahn and staff rack up impressive class on Signing Day
The Auburn Plainsman covered National Signing Day with a live blog. The Tigers signed 19 recruits that day, including five-star defensive end Byron Cowart.
Top three SGA candidates to run unopposed
The candidates for SGA were announced, and for the first time in 10 years the top three offices would be unopposed. On election day, the suspense came from Miss Auburn. Lauren Jones, junior in public relations, was voted Miss Auburn.
Changes to Alpha Psi Rodeo announced
Alpha Psi announced changes to their annual rodeo that were met with criticism from students. Two weeks later, Alpha Psi announced more changes in response to the criticism.
The 4th annual Dance Marathon was held
The 12-hour long Dance Marathon raised $238,035.14 for the Children's Miracle Network.
The first same-sex couples marry amid conflict rulings between federal and state courts
Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore issued an order banning probate judges from complying with a federal court ruling striking down Alabama's same sex-marriage ban. Some probate judges ignored the ruling and allowed the first same-sex marriages to take place in Alabama.
Chicken Salad Chick opens in Foy Hall
"From everything I've heard the lines are going to be out the door," said Glenn Loughridge, director of campus dining. "But I think it will even out, and things will start to move faster as people learn patterns."
Oaks return to Toomer's Corner
Two new oaks were planted Feb. 14 as hundreds of people watched.

“It will be outside, so it will have that festival-feel,” UPC President Amanda Hurite said. “The public will be there, and there’s an entertainment district downtown, so there will be open container laws, and the roads will be blocked off. It’s just going to be a really fun Toomer’s Corner party.”
Prosecutors release emails and evidence in Mike Hubbard ethics case
Prosecutors revealed the first bits of evidence against Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard in a filing with the Lee County Circuit Court.
