Trayvon Reed, who has been away from the Auburn basketball team for the entirety of this season due to a personal issue, will return to the team.
Reed, who was not enrolled in school in the fall, will begin individual workouts with the team, but he will not play this season, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl told the athletic department’s website on Thursday.
"It's good to have Trayvon Reed back with the program," Pearl said. "He will not play this year, but will begin training, individual workouts and focusing on his academics."
In his freshman season in 2014-15, Reed played in 23 games, averaging 1.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 blocked shots per game.
The 7-foot-2 Reed served 15 days in jail in May 2015 after he pled guilty to a second-degree misdemeanor assault charge.
