Auburn snaps seven-game losing streak, grabs first SEC road win at Arkansas

Auburn entered Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday night having lost each of its five conference road games, all by double digits.

The Tigers left with the elusive SEC road win, as Auburn knocked off Arkansas, 90-86, to snap a seven-game losing streak.

“It was very, very special," said Auburn coach Bruce Pearl. "It was great. That one there is for the kids more than anybody else. They obviously, given everything, could have cashed it in."

Bryce Brown scored a game-high 27 points on nine 3-pointers, the most by an SEC player this season. His nine threes were the second-most in a game in Auburn history.

Four Tigers scored in double figures for the first time since Auburn's 83-77 win over Alabama on Jan. 19.

Tyler Harris had 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while TJ Lang added 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Cinmeon Bowers recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and the senior added six assists from his point guard position.

Auburn's (10-15, 4-9 SEC) 90 points were the most since the Tigers scored 119 against Northwestern State on Nov. 24.

Arkansas (12-14, 5-8 SEC) went on a 15-2 run early in the second half to take a 61-52 lead, but Auburn chipped into the deficit and took its first lead of the second half on a Lang three with 2:37 left.

Bowers made four free throws in the final minute to seal Auburn's first win over the Razorbacks since 2010 and just its third victory all-time at Bud Walton Arena.

“I thought in the second half when it started to get away from us, our guys stayed with it and stayed calm," Pearl said. "It took a tremendous effort from seven guys. Who didn’t play well? It took a monumental effort to come in here to get this win.”

Auburn will return to the hardwood on Saturday against Ole Miss at 4 p.m. at Auburn Arena.
