West Magnolia Avenue between Thomas Street and Wright Street will be closed Monday, March 14–18, according to a press release issued by the City of Auburn. The closure was announced because of planned replacement of an underground storm drain located between Thomas and Toomer Streets.
"Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution while driving in the area and to take an alternate route if possible," the city stated in the release.
A lane closure on Opelika Road between Mall Parkway and Auburn Mall has also been announced in a press release. The lane will be closed as the Renew Opelika Road project continues. Work will begin on March 8 and will last for at least two weeks, according to the city's press release.
Auburn Mall and businesses located along the West Magnolia Avenue construction area will remain open for business.
