35th annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held March 26

Aubie and the Easter Bunny are joining forces for an "eggcellent" community-wide event to celebrate Easter.

Auburn's 35th annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Kiesel Park on March 26 at 10 a.m. The hunt is sponsored by Wells Fargo.

Children can expect more eggs than their baskets can hold, with 35,000 eggs spread throughout 4 acres. Hunting grounds will be set up for ages 3 and under, 4–6, 7–9, and 10–12.

Children aged 3 and under will begin their hunt at 10:30 a.m., and each hunt will be 15 minutes apart.

There will be golden eggs spread throughout the fields, and the lucky finder of the egg will receive a special gift.

Alison Hall, community and special programs director, said the event is a perfect outing for the family.

"The weather is looking great, and every year has been a success," Hall said. "We would love to have the community come out and celebrate Easter."

Local businesses have contributed gifts and prizes for those that get lucky during the hunt.

The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine will be handing out healthy alternatives to Easter eggs. There will be inflatables, face-painting and a photo booth for children to pose with Aubie, the Easter bunny and the Chick-fil-A cow. A DJ will be providing music for the event as well.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Auburn will be dishing out hamburgers and hot dogs. All proceeds raised will help needy families in the community.

Hall recommends arriving early because the event is popular and parking is limited.
