Emily Carosone named SEC Co-Softball Player of the Week

As No. 2 Auburn soars through SEC play, it continues to garner conference awards. Senior Emily Carosone was named Co-Softball Player of the Week by the SEC on Monday, sharing the award with Missouri's Emily Crane.

Carosone is the third Auburn player to win the award this season, joining Kasey Cooper and Jade Rhodes, both of whom have won the award twice.

Carosone's performance helped Auburn go 4-1 against No. 7 Florida State and No. 12 Georgia. She went 7-for-14 with seven RBI and seven runs. Her fifth-inning three-run homer was a key moment in the Tigers' first game of the week, a 9-6 win over the Seminoles. She tied the school record for runs in a game with four in Auburn's 13-2 win over Georgia on Saturday.

She also was hit by three pitches on the week, bringing her school-record career total to 77. She ranks fifth in NCAA history in career HBP.
