Kenny Chesney visits Lambda Chi before Jordan-Hare concert

Kenny Chesney took the brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha up on their offer to swing by the night before he kicks off his "Spread the Love" tour in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Chesney, an East Tennessee State University Lambda Chi alum, treated the house to a performance of "Keg in the Closet," a song he wrote about his time in the fraternity. It marked the first time he performed the song in an actual Lambda Chi house.

“You know, some things don’t change," Chesney said in a Facebook post. "Friday afternoon at a fraternity is still an awesome place to be.”

Chesney didn't officially accept his invitation until Friday afternoon, said Lambda Chi President Graham Davis. The impromptu concert felt "laid-back, almost like a family atmosphere," Davis said.

The country singer performed two songs, took a quick tour of the house, posed for photos and signed autographs before word spread about his location. He stayed for approximately 20 minutes.

"You hear that song all the time and you hear Lambda Chi referenced," Davis said. "To hear him sing it in our kitchen was a really cool experience."
