Jordan Ebert named to SEC Community Service Team

Auburn baseball's Jordan Ebert was named to the SEC Community Service Team once again, the conference announced Wednesday.

The Foley, Alabama native volunteers through Auburn athletics and baseball to visit pediatric hospital patients and has participated in Walking Wednesday to support a local elementary school student battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, enlisting support from teammates and coaching staff.

The senior hosts free baseball clinics for children in his hometown of Foley, and also participated in the city of Auburn's Halloween Downtown Trunk or Treat event.

Ebert completed his final home game Tuesday night at Plainsman Park and will continue on to Auburn's final regular season series at Vanderbilt on Thursday.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.

The 2016 SEC Baseball Community Service Team is as follows:

LSU - Doug Norman, So., RHP, Fort Mill, S.C.

Ole Miss - Brady Bramlett, Jr., RHP, Bartlett, Tenn.

Mississippi State - Nathaniel Lowe, Jr., 1B, Marietta, Ga.

Missouri - Nolan Gromacki, So., RHP, Smithville, Mo.

South Carolina - Jonah Bride, So., 3B, Owasso, Okla.

Tennessee - Eric Freeman, RSo., RHP, Knoxville, Tenn.
