Miss Auburn 2017 Top 5 announced

The 2017 Miss Auburn Top 5 were announced on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. on Cater Lawn. 

Lucy Anne Link, SGA executive director of elections, announced the Top 5 as follows: Abigail Agnew, Ashley Moates, Sarah Patrick, Katelyn Simpkins and Faith Webb.

Agnew, junior in business analytics, said she was excited to have the opportunity.

"I did not think I was going to get it at all," Agnew said. "I'm really excited about my platform and getting the chance to share my heart with Auburn."

Moates, junior in communication disorders, said she's eager to promote and work on a platform she is passionate about.

"I'm just so shocked and honored and I cannot wait to share my platform with Auburn University," Moates said. "I can't wait to share my passion with everyone."

Patrick, junior in accounting, said she is humbled to have a chance to reach out to the Auburn community.

"I'm just really humbled," Patrick said. "I think it's such a great opportunity and a complete honor to represent this university and reach out to students and the community."

Simpkins, junior in biomedical sciences, said she was happy to have the support of loved ones at call-outs.

"I feel so much love," Simpkins said. "Everyone's here to support and it's just really sweet."

Webb, junior in public relations, said she was in disbelief when she was the last name called.

"First of all I was the last one called so I had a lot of other girls in mind that i thought were awesome," Webb said. "I thought it wasn't going to me, but I feel really blessed and honored  and I'm just giving the Lord some praise because this is a great opportunity to bring my platform to campus."
