Softball drops to No. 5 in new Top 25

Auburn slipped one spot from No. 4 to No. 5 in the USA Today/NFCA coaches poll, released on Tuesday. Florida State, Florida, Oregon and Arizona are the four squads ranked ahead of the Tigers.

Auburn dropped two of three to the Florida Gators over the weekend, who remained at the No. 2 slot. Kendall Veach hit a solo home run and Kaylee Carlson pitched a three hit shut out for Coach Clint Myers' 1500th career win in game three. Auburn is now 28-5 overall and 3-3 in the SEC on the season.

Auburn travels to No. 18 Georgia this weekend for a three-game series which starts on Friday. The Tigers swept the Bulldogs in last season's series at Jane B. Moore. The first pitch for game one in Athens is set for 6 p.m. CST and will be broadcasted live on the SEC Network+.
