Kasey Cooper named SEC Player of the Week

Auburn third baseman Kasey Cooper had a memorable Senior Day Sunday, as she became the SEC all-time leader in career RBI with a first-inning home run. Cooper earned SEC Player of the Week honors, along with Ole Miss' Kylan Becker.

Cooper now has 266 career RBI, good for ninth all-time in NCAA history. She hit .455 in Auburn’s perfect 4-0 week with two home runs and seven RBI. She reached base in 10 of her 16 plate appearances in Auburn’s victories over Alabama State and Mississippi State.

The Dothan, Alabama native is hitting .305 with nine home runs and 42 RBI this season. She has drawn 41 walks compared to just 14 strikeouts.

No. 9 Auburn will conclude the regular season with a three-game series at No. 14 Alabama over the weekend. Friday’s game will be televised by the SEC Network, while Saturday and Sunday’s games will be on ESPN2.
