After an up-and-down SEC campaign that saw first-year head coach Steven Pearl and the Auburn men’s basketball team finish with a 7-11 record in conference play, including impressive road wins against Florida and Ole Miss, the Tigers’ 2026-27 home and road SEC matchups have been announced.
With the return of two starting guards, senior Tahaad Pettiford and senior Kevin Overton, along with eight transfer portal and international additions, the 2026 NIT champions will be looking to return to a winning conference record for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
Auburn will only see three SEC opponents multiple times in conference play, with those opponents being Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU. The Tigers will be looking to get revenge against rival Alabama after dropping both their home and road matchups to the Crimson Tide last season.
The Rebels are another familiar opponent Auburn will be hoping to get back against. Despite controlling the series in recent seasons and having won nine of their last 10 matchups against the Rebels, the Tigers fell to Ole Miss at home last season, effectively ending their NCAA Tournament hopes.
The loss to the Rebels was one of Auburn’s only four losses in Neville Arena last year, a place where Auburn has been nearly impossible to beat in recent seasons. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, the Tigers have amassed 126 wins on their home court while surrendering only 17 losses.
The SEC opponents faced with the difficult task of going on the road to Neville Arena include 2025 national champion and 2026 SEC regular-season champion Florida; Tennessee, coming off an Elite Eight appearance; Georgia; Mississippi State; Missouri and Oklahoma.
While Neville Arena has proven to be one of the harshest road environments in the SEC throughout the years, Auburn will be traveling to a number of historically tough locations as well. The Tigers are set to take on Kentucky at Rupp Arena, a place where they have only emerged victorious twice since 1988.
In another intriguing matchup, Auburn is set to head to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to take on Hall of Fame coach John Calipari and the 2026 SEC Tournament champion Arkansas Razorbacks at Bud Walton Arena. Auburn’s remaining road opponents will be South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
With a revamped roster, Auburn's outlook for the 2026-27 season remains unclear, but the Tigers are set to face a variety of high-profile conference matchups.
