A spirit that is not afraid

Ignite Auburn will host seventh annual worship event Monday

Ignite Auburn will host their seventh annual celebration featuring guest pastors and music leaders from local churches.

The event is set for Monday, Nov. 6, in the Auburn Arena at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening an hour prior.

Ignite Auburn first began in 2010 with the goal of spreading the gospel throughout the University's campus. Students have continued to attend the event in order to experience a unique celebration of religion.

"Our sole hope is that a spiritual flame will be ignited on Auburn's campus," said Jackson Fite, senior in building science.

For their seventh year, Chris Hodges, senior pastor of Church of the Highlands, will be speaking with the accompanying music from Ben Honeycutt, the worship and creative arts director at Rock Bridge Community Church in northeast Georgia.

Ignite Auburn is a student-led event hosted in conjunction with a variety of campus ministries and churches.

"We invite all who are interested, whether you are strong in your faith, a non-believer or maybe someone who has gotten away from their faith since entering college," Fite said.
