Alexander C. Lopez, 23, of Auburn was arrested and charged with first-degree sodomy on Wednesday, according to a release from the Auburn Police Department.
Police said the arrest stems from an investigation into a reported sexual assault that occurred on March 3 at a residence in town. A 25-year-old woman reported to police that she had been sexually assaulted by Lopez, who was an acquaintance that lived nearby.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and arrested Lopez at his house. He was transported to the Lee County Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond.
