Robert Muschamp is kicking off his senior year with a scholarship.

The former walk-on tight end from Rome, Georgia, earned a scholarship Thursday, according to a video from Auburn football's Twitter page.

Muschamp is the nephew of former Auburn defensive coordinator (2015) and current South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp. Robert has seen the field in just one outing during his career in the orange and blue (Alabama A&M, 2016).

Muschamp is the second Auburn walk-on to receive a scholarship this season after senior quarterback Devin Adams' walk-on status was dashed Aug. 19

"Coach Malzahn talks to us about how we've been a really good team and we need to make that next step to be a great team," Muschamp said Wednesday in an interview with Auburn Athletics. "We've been really good getting right there – a game away, a quarter away, to come so close.

"So this year, we all want it to come together and come full circle to make that next step. Everybody is locked in. Everybody believes we can win a championship."
