Tracy Moore made a promise to herself that if she ever made Top 5 for anything, she would spend her platform advocating for sexual assault awareness and prevention.

Moore, senior in public relations from Atlanta, said she would like to keep the conversation about sexual assault going.

Her platform focuses on three areas: raising awareness, working with the Student Government Association to hire a full-time sexual assault nurse at the Auburn University Medical Clinic and simplifying the process of reporting.

She said they hope to streamline the process of reporting and explain what is necessary to encourage students to report.

Each day of campaigning will be a different theme, Moore said. This is Moore’s first campaign, and she said she has never owned a campaign shirt. Moore laughed and said they are learning a lot and focusing on what matters: the platform.

“The first day is ‘Meet Tracy,’ the second day is ‘By the Numbers’ and our slogan is ‘We Can Do Moore,’” Moore said.

Moore said she hopes people will stop her and ask questions or chat about how Auburn can do more to prevent sexual assault. She said all of the women running for Miss Homecoming are impressive and wonderful candidates.

Moore said she hopes people focus on what platform they relate to when voting.

Moore said she came to Auburn because she is a big Auburn fan, and she wanted to go to a big football school. She is a War Eagle Girl and decided to come to Auburn after the Florida State game.

“I came to Auburn for the game against South Carolina, and it was my birthday,” Moore said. “They sang ‘God Bless America,’ and it was beautiful. Everything was perfect. The sunset was beautiful.”

Moore said when she went to Florida State,                                                                                          it was raining and her seats were horrible for the game.

“Every sign pointed to Auburn,” Moore said.
