Quarter-by-quarter breakdown: Auburn pulls off furious comeback, beats Texas A&M

Fourth Quarter

FINAL: Auburn 28, Texas A&M 24.

0:12 4Q - Mond's hail mary is incomplete and that's the ball game. Auburn comes back and finds a way to come out on top. 28-24

0:41 4Q - Mond finds Rogers for a 10 yard slant route, A&M's hopes stay alive

0:49 4Q - Nick Coe stifles Mond's rush attempt and it'll be 4th and 5 and what could possibly be the Aggies last chance of the game

0:53 4Q - Derrick Brown swats Mond's pass attempt and the Aggies are facing 3rd and 7 with the game on the line.

1:35 4Q - Trayveon Williams (of course) runs up the gut for a strong 19 yard gain. This one isn't over yet.

1:50 4Q - Stidham finds freshman sensation Seth Williams in the back corner of the endzone for an AUBURN TOUCHDOWN.

Carlson's XP is good and the tides have completely turned in about 30 seconds...

Auburn now up 28-24 with 1:41 left

two play, 58-yard drive for the Tigers

1:58 4Q - Senior Ryan Davis takes a short slant route all the way down the field for 47 yards. Auburn sets up at the A&M 11

2:10 4Q - Christian Tutt almost breaks free for a punt return TD but is stopped at the Auburn 42

2:19 4Q - Mond's pass is incomplete and Mann comes on to pump for the Aggies.

Auburn will get the ball back down three with roughly two minutes left.

2:36 4Q - The ball comes loose but A&M recovers, Auburn takes its second timeout and we will have 3rd and 15 when we resume.

3:05 4Q - On 3rd and 1 Trayveon Williams gets the yards he needs, an offsides penalty on Auburn pushes the Aggies even further into Auburn territory.

5:11 4Q - Who else but Trayveon Williams, 11 yard gain on the rush

5:18 4Q - Chandler Cox with a one yard gain on the toss for the AUBURN TOUCHDOWN.

Carlson's XP is good and Auburn cuts the Aggie lead to just three with 5 minutes remaining

24-21 A&M lead

5:42 4Q - Stidham tosses it to Slayton again, great catch but Slayton is stopped just short of the endzone. 1st and goal for Auburn

6:00 4Q - Slayton with a 14 yard reception, the Auburn offense is coming alive.

6:12 4Q - Whitlow converts on 3rd and 3 and Auburn has 1st and 10 on the 36

6:30 4Q - Three straight completions for Stidham and Auburn is now into A&M territory

7:20 4Q - The Auburn defense doing everything it can to try and keep Auburn in this game. Noah Igbinoghene intercepts Mond's third down pass and Auburn takes over on the 29

9:30 4Q - Stidham is sacked for a loss of nine on third down. Auburn's sixth three and out of the evening. Siposs punts to about midfield.

10:34 4Q - on 3rd and 9, Mond fires the ball, intended for Quartney Davis but is incomplete. Small on to kick the 36-yard field goal...it's NO GOOD

Auburn holds onto a 10-point deficit with 10 and a half minutes remaining. 

11:56 4Q - Kellen Mond with another big rush, this time for 10 yards

13:33 4Q - Mond carries it for nine yards on the read option.

14:30 4Q - Two errant passes in a row for Stidham and it results in yet another three and out for Auburn, the Tiger offense struggling mightily today


Third Quarter

0:08 3Q - Ryan Davis catches the punt on the Auburn two yard line and is dropped for no gain. The Tigers will have to start the drive backed up into their own endzone.

0:15 3Q - Marlon Davidson and Daniel Thomas sandwich Mond as he is hit hard on third down, incomplete. Mann on to punt as the quarter comes to a close

1:00 3Q - And the QB draw fails as Nick Coe sacks Mond for a loss of five

2:02 3Q - Coynis Miller Jr. drops Corbin behind the line of scrimmage for a two-yard loss

2: 37 3Q - Corbin finds a BIG hole and he rushes for 18 yards

2:51 3Q - Stidham's pass on third down is low and Schwartz is unable to grab it, three and out. Siposs on to punt

4:00 3Q - Mond's pass is too high and Mann is on to punt

4:52 3Q - Mond tries to scramble but is wrapped up by Dontavius Russell for a loss of four. 3rd and 15 upcoming

5:41 3Q - A missed tackle and it's Trayveon Williams on the screen pass again, 12 yard gain.

7:12 3Q - Trayveon Williams continues to have a field day against the Auburn defense, takes the screen pass on 3rd and 10 for 18 yards

8:15 3Q - Seth Williams drops Stidham's pass on 3rd and 8 and Siposs is on to punt

10:00 3Q - Darius Slayton with the 18-yard reception, Auburn at midfield

10:51 3Q - Williams up the middle for a one yard A&M TOUCHDOWN.

That is the junior's third TD of the day. Score is under review

EDIT: Ruling on the field stands. After a Small's XP, the Aggies open up a 24-14 lead. Boo's flooding in from Jordan-Hare Stadium after a few questionable calls on tha drive

11:04 3Q - Mond's pass sails out of the back of the endzone, an Auburn pass interference call gives A&M the first down from the two.

11:10 3Q - Mond throws the ball away and it's now 3rd and goal for the Aggies

12:23 3Q - Mond on the carry, five yards but Auburn is called for a facemask and A&M gets a first down.

13:41 3Q - A bit of misdirection and Mond finds Sternberger open who takes it for a big, 42-yard gain.

15:00 3Q - Corbin gets the second half going with a 9-yard rush


Second Quarter

HALF: A&M leads 17-14 behind 102 all-purpose yards from Trayveon Williams

Jarrett Stidham 7-11 for 90 yards and a TD for Auburn.

Auburn being outrushed 143 to 23 in half number one

1:10 2Q - Igbinoghene recovers his own dropped kickoff return, Auburn sets up . at the 17 with a minute to go

1:20 2Q - A few missed tackles and Mond's screen pass to Williams goes for an Aggie TOUCHDOWN.

Small's kick is good

A&M recaptures the lead, 17-14 in a back and forth game

2:08 2Q - Mond finds Camron Buckley for an 18-yard gain. Aggies have 1st down with the ball on the 14

2:50 2Q - Freshman Christian Tutt with the sack, a loss of six yards

3:05 2Q - A pass interference call on Igbinoghene puts the Aggies with first down on the Auburn 26

3:30 2Q - Corbin again, this time a rush for 18 yards, A&M quickly in Auburn territory

4:03 2Q - Corbin takes the screen pass for 16 yards

4:10 2Q - 3rd and 2 on the 11 yard line and Stidham finds freshman Seth Williams who makes a spectacular effort to get a foot inbounds. TOUCHDOWN AUBURN

7:56 2Q - 3rd and 8 and Mond's pass to Sternberger is incomplete...Mann on to punt for A&M

- Tigers are currently 1 for 5 on third down today

9:40 2Q - Stidham's pass to Seth Williams sails high. yet ANOTHER three and out for Auburn.

Tigers currently have -5 rushing yards on the game which is...less than ideal

10:31 2Q - Stidham launches a deep ball downfield to Slayton, close but no cigar

11:27 2Q - On 3rd and 5, Mond finds Davis for a 4 yard gain...Jimbo Fisher electing to punt

12:55 2Q - Mond finds Sternberger for a 12 yard gain, chains moved.

13:47 2Q - Stidham's pass to Seth Williams is incomplete...three and out for Auburn, Siposs on to punt

14:30 2Q - Trayveon Williams finds a small hole and is GONE. seemingly untouched for a 38 yard A&M TOUCHDOWN.

First quarter

0:22 1Q - Mond finds Quartney Davis wide open for a 10 yard gain as the first quarter comes to a close

0:58 1Q - Mond escapes pressure and rushes for 17 yards, his dual-threat ability on display early today

1:40 1Q - That didn't take long. A bit of trickery and Stidham passes it to Ryan Davis who finds Sal Canella WIDE open in the endzone for an Auburn TOUCHDOWN.

Auburn leads 7-3

1:44 1Q - and just when it looked like A&M was driving, Jamel Dean recovers a fumble and Auburn has possession on the 20

2:30 1Q - Trayveon Williams busts through the Auburn defense for a 19 yard rush

3:20 1Q - A fantastic punt from Arryn Siposs pins A&M on their own three yard line

4:06 1Q - Darius Slayton with another catch but it is just short of the first down, Auburn electing to punt on 4th and 1

6:00 1Q - Malik Miller takes the screen pass for 15 yards, Tigers at midfield

6:27 1Q - Darius Slayton with a 10-yard gain, makes it 3rd down and 3

7:48 1Q - A&M unable to convert on 3rd and 14, Seth Small on to kick for the Aggies

His 35-yard kick is GOOD.

Aggies take an early 3-0 lead

7:58 1Q - intentional grounding called on Kellen Mond, backs the Aggies up to the 23 yard line

8:03 1Q - A&M calls a timeout. The Aggies are in the redzone and the Tigers have no answer for the A&M rushing attack thus far.

12:01 1Q - Trayveon Williams carroes the ball for six yards and A&M is slicing through the Auburn D so far.

13:19 1Q - Mond keeps the ball and rushes for 12 yards. Auburn needs to be wary of his dual-threat ability

14:00 1Q - And that's about as quick as a three and out as you can get. Siposs punts it to the 34

14:45 1Q - Schwartz again, this time he loses 14 yards (ouch)

15:00 1Q - An Anthony Schwartz rush gets the game going, three yards on the play.


Pregame

- Auburn leading rusher JaTarvious Whitlow is fully dressed and going through warmups. He was listed as day-to-day this week.

- Kaleb Kim replaces Nick Brahms at starting center, making his first start since the LSU game in Week 3.

- Jack Driscoll (knee) is also starting after being day-to-day during the bye. Kam Martin announced as the starting running back, which doesn't matter at this point.
