Chip Lindsey is coming back to Alabama.
The former Auburn offensive coordinator is expected to become the next head coach at Troy, FootballScoop.com reported Wednesday night.
Lindsey was hired to Les Miles' staff at Kansas on Dec. 4 as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after two seasons at Auburn. Gus Malzahn replaced him with Memphis offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham.
Former Troy coach Neal Brown, who led the Trojans to three straight double-digit win seasons and a 3-0 record in bowl games, was hired to the same position at West Virginia earlier this month. The move by WVU replaced Dana Holgorson, who left for the head coaching gig at Houston.
Lindsey returns to Troy after he replaced Brown as quarterbacks coach there in 2010.
