Auburn guards Bryce Brown and Jared Harper have been named to the All-SEC second team by SEC coaches, the league office announced Tuesday.

Harper and Brown are the first backcourt in Auburn history to receive all-conference recognition in back-to-back seasons. They are also the fifth and sixth Tigers to be named All-SEC under head coach Bruce Pearl.

Brown, Auburn's program leader in 3-pointers made, moved up to fifth on the SEC's all-time 3-pointers list with 345 at the end of the regular season. Brown is only four 3s away from matching the single-season record of 108 held by Lance Weems in 1995-96.

The Stone Mountain, Georgia, native is the 11th player in school history to eclipse 1,500 career points and is nine away from finishing in the top-10 all-time for scoring in school history.

Brown averaged 15.7 points per game this season, including 15.9 points per game in SEC play, leading the Tigers in scoring. Seven of his 18 career 20-point games have come this season, including five in SEC play. His 34-point performance against Dayton is the most points scored in a game by a Tiger since Toney Douglas dropped 38 on Nicholls State in 2004.

The 3-point specialist buried a league-high 63 triples and was the top 3-point shooter in conference play at 43.4 percent.

Harper moved into the top-20 on Auburn's all-time scoring list this season. The junior has scored 1,285 points through the end of the regular season. He did this by scoring in double-digits nine straight games and 16 of the last 17, all from SEC play.

The Mableton, Georgia, native dished out 183 assists including 94 in the SEC. Harper is now just two assists away from his season total in 2017-18. He is now eight on the Tigers' all-time assist list at 463, and has the second most by a player before the end of his junior year at Auburn, trailing Gerald White, who had 500 assists before his senior season from 1983-86.

Auburn has scored 468 points off Harper's assists. On Auburn's 857 made field goals this season, Harper has assisted on 325 of them (37.9 percent). Harper's 463 career assists rank him first in active SEC players and sixth among all D1 juniors.

Harper is one of two Auburn players to amass 1,200 points, 450 assists, 350 free throws and 200 rebounds, joining Eddie Johnson (1973-77).

Harper and Brown are the ninth and 10th Tiger guards to earn all-conference recognition since 2000.

Five-seed Auburn begins SEC Tournament play this week in Nashville. Auburn will face the winner of 12-seed Missouri and 13-seed Georgia in the second round.

The game is on Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. CST and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
