All clear: Tornado warnings, watch canceled in Lee County

All tornado warnings and watches in Lee County have been canceled. The Lee County coroner says there have been at least two fatalities.

3:30 p.m. All tornado warnings and a tornado watch in Lee County have been canceled. The Lee County coroner says there have been at least two fatalities in Lee County caused by a tornado that touched down earlier today.



2:40 p.m. Another Tornado Warning has been issued for parts of southern Lee County. A confirmed, powerful tornado was on the ground earlier in the same area.




2 p.m. A Tornado Warning has been issued for parts of southern Lee County. The warning does not include Auburn University.



Severe weather is possible in the Auburn area through this evening.

The Birmingham office of the National Weather Service says there is an enhanced risk of severe weather through 6 p.m. Strong tornadoes, damaging winds up to 70 miles per hour and quarter-sized hail are possible.

Auburn is in the enhanced risk area.

A Tornado Watch is in effect until 6 p.m.

Two shelters are open on campus. 

One is in Greene Hall at the veterinary school, and the other is RBD Library on Main Campus.
