SGA and UPC are pairing to host a screening for Auburn's men's basketball game on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. against New Mexico State.

SGA and UPC will host a live screening of Auburn's NCAA Tournament game on Thursday.

The screening will be in the Student Center Ballroom at 12:30 p.m. when the Tigers take on New Mexico State.

Mary Margaret Turton, SGA president, and Scott Murphy, UPC president, joined together to put on the event because they thought the screening would be a great way to bring together the Auburn Family.

"We are really excited about this to be able to promote a community atmosphere for students to watch the game together and support the basketball team and the program's accomplishments as the Auburn Family, rather than just having to watch it on personal devices," Turton said.

The men's basketball team won the SEC Championship on Sunday for the first time since 1985.

"It's been a huge success this year, and I'm really proud of the players, the coaches and the staff and the student body," Turton said. "The Jungle is something to be proud of."

Turton is excited for the screening, and details permitting, there could be more screenings for more games in the tournament.

"SGA is proud of all spring athletics, and in any way we can, we would like to support all athletics and celebrate their accomplishments," Turton said.

As of this week, eight spring athletic teams are nationally ranked.

"It's a great day to be an Auburn Tiger," Turton said.
