The Tigers hoped to get back on track against Tennessee after a loss to Alabama last week.

Auburn was unable to turn things around, dropping the home match to the Vols on Sunday, 3-0.

Shaniah White and Val Green led Auburn in kills in the first set but ultimately fell short in a 25-20 loss.

Auburn then came out firing in the second set, leading the Vols 12-9 after trailing for the entirety of the opening set. The Vols had to take two timeouts to stop Auburn's momentum, and with help from Auburn's blockers, the Tigers were able to slow down the Vol offense.

Tennessee then battled their way ahead of Auburn with strong hitters like Tessa Grubbs and key blocks from Addisyn Rowe.

Beginning the second set with some momentum, Tennessee picked it up and did not trail the Tigers after their second timeout. Auburn lost the set 18-25.

Auburn led the third set 8-5 after trailing 1-4. After the Vols retook the lead, Auburn rallied to make it a 20-21 game after a double was called on Tennessee.

It continued to go back and forth until Grubbs went for the kill and ended the match. Auburn lost 25-23.

Next Sunday, Auburn is set to face Ole Miss in Oxford 1:30 p.m. CST.
