Scoring a career-high on bars and tying a career-high on floor routine warranted some recognition for Auburn sophomore Derrian Gobourne in the eyes of the SEC.
The sophomore gymnast was named SEC Specialist of the Week on Tuesday after she won two event titles and finished second in her third event to help the Tigers beat No. 10 Alabama last week. During the meet, she scored a 9.875 on vault, 9.925 on bars and finished with a 9.995 on floor.
Gobourne closed out the meet for the Tigers with her performance on floor, which tied her career-high and gave Auburn an overall victory of 196.625-196.025.
The Tigers will be back in action Jan. 17 when they travel to Baton Rouge. LSU is 2-0 to start the gymnastics season with wins over Arizona and No. 8 Georgia.
