Auburn has issued an all-clear for the gas leak at about 2:15 p.m, according to an AU Alert message. The leak was discovered at the intersection of South College Street and Thach Avenue earlier in the day Thursday.

The leak developed as construction crews were working on the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center.

The gas line was a major delivery line which is why it was classified as a "large gas leak" in the University's message. The line belongs to the gas company Spire, and their crews are working to repair the leak, said Fire Battalion Chief Dow Sport.

Auburn University announced that there is a gas leak at the intersection near the University Chapel shortly after 1 p.m. The AU alert sent by the University advised students to avoid the area.
