Charter Spectrum to offer free internet services to students affected by coronavirus closures

Charter Spectrum is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription, according to a release from Charter Spectrum.

To enroll in this service call 1-844-488-8395. The company is waving installation fees for new student households.

This program will begin Monday March 16 and continue for the next 60 days, according to a release from Charter Spectrum.

The network is built to sustain maximum capacity during peak usage, which is typically in the evenings, so a surge in usage during the day would be within the network’s capabilities.

Charter Spectrum is continuing to offer Spectrum Internet Assist, a high-speed broadband program to eligible low-income households, and it will open Wi-Fi hotspots for public use around the country.
