Auburn basketball’s first commitment of the 2021 class is 5-star Jabari Smith, the nation’s No. 5 overall player and No. 1 power forward, according to 247Sports.
The Tyrone, Georgia, native announced his commitment to Auburn on Friday via Instagram and Twitter.
The 6-foot-10 Smith attends Sandy Creek High School and is rated as the No. 1 player in Georgia.
His decision was between Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, UNC and Georgia Tech. In his junior season, Smith averaged 24.5 points and 10.8 rebounds in 30 games.
He is the program's highest-rated commit, a distinction previously held by Sharife Cooper. Smith will also be the program's third-ever five-star if he signs.
