Auburn basketball will have back-to-back years with a McDonald’s All-American on the roster with 2021 5-star signee Jabari Smith being named one on Tuesday.

Freshman point guard Sharife Cooper came to Auburn in 2020 as just the third McDonalds All-American in program history. Now, Auburn will have repeating years successfully recruiting players with some of the highest honors available to high school athletes.

Smith, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Sandy Creek High School, is the No. 5 recruit in the 2021 class and the No. 1 recruit out of Georgia, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

In his senior year, Smith is averaging 23.4 points and 9.9 rebounds while shooting 54% from the field.

Now a McDonald’s All-American, Smith is only adding to his resume as he is already the highest-rated recruit to sign with Auburn basketball in program history.

He joins Cooper, Frank Ford and Korvotney Barber as Auburn’s only All-American signees.
