On Tuesday, the SEC announced that Auburn's Derrian Gobourne had been named the SEC Specialist of the Week after helping Auburn defeat Georgia last week.
The Sarasota, Florida native opened the meet with a season-high 9.925 vault score, earning her second vault crown of the season. She didn’t end the night with just the vault crown, as she also won her second bar title of the season with a career-high 9.95 score.
To close out the meet and secure a win for the Tigers, Gobourne scored another 9.925 on the floor and earned her third event title of the night. It is her third consecutive meet with a score of 9.925 or higher in the floor event.
With Gobourne’s help, Auburn set season-bests in all 3 events scoring a 49.225 on vault, 49.350 on floor and a 49.475 on the bar.
Auburn will travel to Gainesville on Friday to face No. 1 Florida for the second time this season. In the first matchup, the Gators etched past the Tigers with a score of 197.500-195.725.
The meet will start at 7:30 p.m. CST and will air on SEC Network.
